My babies turned 2!

It's party time!
We had a great day on Sunday with family and friends celebrating the twins second birthday.

We had a western themed party with cowboy hats, bales of hay and boots. I had all the details planned for a outdoor party, the sun was shining it looked beautiful out until you walked out the door. The wind was so awful that most of the party was inside:(

Wonderful cupcakes from Miss Sara's Cakery

The birthday boy.
I passed my camera around during present opening so we got great images from all the guests
point of view.
Present time!

Hudson loved his card that sang the Mickey Mouse theme song.

Family photo fun...the church directory

Let's just start out saying I usually try not to be a negative Nelly on the blog. I try to keep it fun and share some pictures. But today I am going to complain and whine...just a heads up:)

Today was the day we got our family picture taken for the church directory. I hunted down some outfits that would coordinate for 6 people, and even managed not to break the bank! We wore color, lots of color! I even wore a orange top...if you know me you know this is pretty far out of the box for this girl. I wear black, gray and more black. We looked cute and casual. Like my family dresses, not all fancy. We only had one wardrobe issue, Leighton's jean jacket was huge. I bought it last night and didn't try it out. Oops. But she still looked cute in her white dress and leggings.

We got to church on time and waited and waited and waited until almost a hour after our appointment time. We finally got our turn and the guy taking the pictures was more concerned about posing us than anything took about 10 pictures and called it a day. (I told him because we were a hour after our appointment that we had to make it quick) So the kids did great we got the pictures and they left. I went to the next step picking out our pictures so of the ten pictures maybe 2 look okay until I looked at them closer. In half of them my necklace is very off center in a not so flattering position and in the other half my hair is sticking straight out!! So I picked out one for the directory that was the "best" and walked away. It was a horrible experience. I felt so disappointed. It is a rare occasion that all six of us are together in a picture. I was really hoping for at least one cute one that I could pass around. But, I didn't and now I will have to live with the gross picture in the church directory for years grrr.

But, I did get this quick pic of Brecken afterwards I think it was the only good picture taken all day. He is my sweet boy.

Easter Greetings!

Today was great! The little kids woke up to baskets filled with candy, hip new sunglasses and many other fun things. Then we headed to church and grandmas house. I forgot my camera when we left this morning so I only have pj pictures of them with their baskets. But all in all it was a great day.

Happy Easter everyone!

Bunnies!

Today Kathy invited us over to the Studio, her son had brought over his bunnies! So I got just a few quick shots of the little kids with the bunnies. Aren't they cute? I think so! I am so glad we did this. It was fun to see the kids reactions to the bunnies.
Brecken is getting so big I can hardly stand it! I can not believe he is already 4 years old.

Hudson wasn't so sure about this but Leighton jumped right in and tried to pick them up.

Vacation time!

As I was getting ready to head out to Colorado I grabbed a few pictures of the kids sleeping at Grandma's before I left.
So with that we were on our way to the airport, four days with no kids. They were missed but we had a great time visiting our cousins in Denver.
Driving to Loveland
At the top of Loveland

This was our first day of skiing in Colorado. This was my first time skiing out west. It sure is a bit bigger than Welch. LOL I have skied quite a bit this year with our Welch season pass so I thought I would be some what ready for what was in store but I was wrong! It was crazy and fun after I got over the elevation sickness and pounded back a bloody mary.

Crist and Matt decided to spend Sunday cooking. They were making homemade pudding for the cream puffs they made on Friday night. Yes, they made cream puffs on a Friday night.

Cooking plus a few of these result in this.......

So cute in their aprons don't you think!
Or maybe a little crazy! I wish Matt lived closer so they could bake together more often.
Sunday for the dogs was a little more relaxed:)
And not to be forgotten the awesome little girl who shared her wonderful parents with us all weekend! Thank you Matt, Jenna and Story for a great Colorado weekend!

To the Science Fair we go!

Check out my smarty pants! She won at the science fair and is now on to the Regional Science Fair. She tested laundry detergents to see which one took out stains the best.

She is so happy and excited for the Regional Competition in Mankato this April. One of the best parts is we get to get away for the night with some of our favorite cousins Kari and Eva. Eva won from the 3rd grade! Congrats Autumn!!

The BIG 0-4!

Four years ago yesterday my sweet boy was born. He was stubborn that day making sure everyone made it to the hospital before he made his way into the world.  He is still stubborn and cute and has this mama wrapped around his finger. We celebrated early with cake for breakfast then presents.
I stayed up way to late decorating this Lighting McQueen cake per Brecken's request. But as you can see it cracked in the morning. Oh well....I tried and it still tasted good. Especially for breakfast.
Brecken as you can see is perfectly happy with his cracked cake. So mission accomplished! That afternoon we headed out to Autumn's field trip to Skateville.

All in all it was a great day. We are heading out for a family trip this weekend to celebrate his birthday and next week is his "friends" party at the zoo! I love love love birthdays and they tend to last at least a couple weeks in our house. So for now Happy Birthday Brecken week one!
